Southwire NM cable

Has anyone else noticed a difference in the sheathing of Southwire's 14/2 and 12/2 NM cables ? It doesn't strip as easy as it used to. It almost seems like they are using a heavier UF type of material on their NM cable jackets. Maybe it's me - please let me know if I'm going crazy.

New Romex Outer Jacket

Any thoughts on the new outer jacket insulation on Romex? It's very stiff and much harder to work with. Not happy.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence, not a conspiracy, but Southwire also sells heavy duty Romex™ strippers that will easily cut through heavier jackets.
