Crossing a Gas Line
Crossing a Gas Line
I had one crossing between a 230kV HPOF cable and a High Pressure Gas Line. The crossing was 12" and not at right angles. The biggest problem was cathotic portection. The gas company imposes a DC voltage in their pipe and we impose the same on ours. We installed an sacrificial zink annode at a spot where the crossing was. If you are looking for a good rule for this its as fare as you can get. Watching your Extra High Voltage Underground Cables and keeping other utilities from encroaching is a full time job.
