Spacing Requirement between Electrical Conduit and Gas Line

Are you referring to buried installations, above grade, or what? I believe there is a plumbing code requirement that ug gas lines and ug electrical conduits be 1' apart.

Some municipalities here could care less, some require 6", some even require 12".
Doesn't make much sense to me as I would assume that LP and NG are just as flammable in one town as in another.
This is just one of those requirements that we learn to live with so as not to have a problem with inspections.
Perhaps the NEC should address this so I don't have to pull my PVC out and dig a new trench.

I think the National ELECTRIC Code should remain just that! Isn't it confusing enough? This is where good plans and specs and knowledge held by project managers should take over.

I personally do not know of any spacing requirements.
