Span Smart Panel

I remember seeing this a few months ago. Their website has no information whatsoever regarding the specs of the panel.

What I’ve been able to find from articles is that it’s A) a UL listed product and B) costs about $5k for a 32 circuit panel.

It’s reads to be very similar to the new Leviton WiFi connected breakers that allow you to load shed remotely. But it looks like their app lets you pre-program which circuits to load shed in a power outage.

I wonder if they’re building their own devices or using an OEM channel of another manufacturer?

Ok go to YouTube and search span smart panel.

I found some videos, and while they don’t give any specific info about the panel, you can at least see it.

The main breaker is a Square D QOVH. The bus looks very interesting and each video I watched showed a mix of manufacturer breakers from Siemens, Eaton, and Square D. Just standard stab on breakers.

What I think is happening, is each individual space on the bus is controlled independently by a relay behind the bus bar; the panel is very deep. So the relay switching happens before the branch breaker. It also has feed through lugs.
