Fingernail polish works real well also.

It is real fun to watch the salesgirl reaction when you ask for
Cat yellow (or OSHA yellow or safety yellow)
John Deere Green
Fire engine red
Blue

Also learned from a locksmith to use lipstick for checing interferance fit. Better than prussian blue in houses == you cant spill it. Only downside is his wife gets mad when he steals it.

We both keep these tricks carefully hidden to protect our macho image.

This leads me to a wierd question. Can we re-re-identify a white wire?. Once I painted a whole length of white wire in a panel, and then discovered right away I hit the wrong cable. Now I had a blue wire I wanted to put into the neutral bus. I got some gojo out of the van, and wiped the blue off but I am sure this is not right as the wire insulation has now been doused in a petrol solvent. Could I have just taped up the wire with white tape? Or did this whole home run need to be redone?

Tape is allowed,I bought one of those giant markers at wall mart for like $3.00 . Cut a v notch width wise and with 2 movements you can get a # 6 with this method.Couple of seconds and done deal. :D
