Specifically when does something need to be service entrance rated?

Pretty simple, just like the title asked: When do I need to have a panel service entrance rated? Or in general, when does anything need to be service entrance rated? I'm looking for some clear cut guidelines, may have overlooked them in the NEC. Thanks for the help guys!

When you use the equipment for service entrance it must be service rated. There is also one situation where a panel must be service rated when there is a feeder going to a detached structure

230.66 Marking. Service equipment rated at 1000 volts or
less shall be marked to identify it as being suitable for use
as service equipment. All service equipment shall be listed.
Individual meter socket enclosures shall not be considered
service equipment.

I agree with Dennis and will only add that service rated means the neutral is either bonded to the case already or capable of being bonded to the case with the parts the equipment comes with. It will also come labeled 'service disconnect' or have a sticker that can be put on in the field saying that.
