Hey all I'm pricing out an ats for a job I'm doing (600 amp residential whole house) and I'm confused on which to use. Originally after researching I was going to use the generator as a separately derived system but now I'm not so sure. In this scenario the utility will come through the ct cabinet and go to a Fused service disconnect. The load will then go to a MDP in the garage. When the transfer switch comes in in 4 to 6 weeks I will install it in-between the disconnect and the MDP. What say those smarter than me?

Thanks

No. Still in the pricing stage but my supplier was asking what I wanted. Seems like in residential SDS is rarely done based on threads I have been reading.

I agree with Dave there is no reason to spend the money on the extra pole required in the switch and on installing or connecting to a/the GES.
