We are working on a center bus fed service switch which in return, feeds an 800 amp Pringle Switch on top and a 1200 amp Pringle switch on the bottom. We would like to take the load off the top switch, crimp splice 500 mcm's long enough to land them on the bottom switch (along with additional new cable to meet the new load).
Is there anything in the NEC that prohibits this sort of splicing in service switch enclosures?:wink:

Freddy, See article 230.82 Equipment Connected to the Supply Side of Service Disconnect. I am a little confused as to what your doing.. If these switches are buss fed, why are you running jumpers to feed the bottom switch.

Rick, It's all load side work, He wants to take existing load off of the 800a and splice wire

long enough to reach the 1200a, along with additional wires.
