I had a final inspection and inspectro told me he will cite 'neat and workmanship manner' for my splices to led strips.
Driver is class 2, I used mc cable on load side (so it doesn't get damaged) and soldered to connector couple of inches from 24VDC led strip.
He says every mc or ac cable needs splices in an electrical box.
Pure nonsense . He expressed he doesn't like to see 'high voltage' cable stripped but he should use code not emotions.
How can I back my response with a code section?
Thank you in advance

I would say not a listed as method of installation.
It sounds like your class 2 transformer is just in open air. If so it needs a box.

He spliced the load side open air - nothing wrong with that.

darekelec, here you go:

725.24 covers "neat and workmanlike", which is pretty unenforceable anyway, but all it covers specifically is support of the wiring.

http://www.ecmweb.com/code-basics/article-725-around-circuit-part-1

"Boxes or other enclosures aren't required for Class 2 or Class 3 splices or terminations, because Art. 725 doesn't reference 300.15 for Class 2 and Class 3 circuits."

330.10(B) allows MC cable for article 725 installs. Nothing in 330 requires MC in a box, only 330.40 requires fittings (if used) be listed and identified for the use.

Transformer has a metal box. Connection at led doesn't have a box.
Its the same as saying
'you used speaker wire. I want to see speaker at the other side of the wire'

There is also the question of why you chose to use MC for a low voltage, Class 2 circuit?

Easily available on a jobsite, can be left roughed in for months and it won't get damaged, maybe owner will change driver to one not listed as class 2, maybe they will change light to line voltage, overkill but it won't hurt, looks nice at the transformer

I would point out to him that a blanket statement like, "every mc or ac cable needs splices in an electrical box." Challenge him. Ask, if you can show him a place in the code that SPECIFICALLY allows you to splice MC cable without a box, then he will concede. Then point out 590.4(G)

I got violation
OTHER
(FLOOR: 008) 110.12 MC CABLE IN CLOSET NOT SPICED WITHIN A BOX.

I came here for advice not sarcasm.
Thank you

The code is permissive; if there isnt a section saying 'you can't do that', then you can do it. There is no article or section that says LV/LE splices must be made in boxes, nor anything in 330 that says MC cable must be terminated. 110.12 is a lame/improper citation, and I wouldnt hesitate to go over the inspector's head on this one. 110.12 is NOT a catch-all for 'I dont like it, therefore code violation'.

That is nothing more then a chicken excrement way of rejecting it just because he does not like what he sees and he can't find any other code section to cite that is in violation.

Definitely complain to his supervisor, whether you get your way or not this needs to be heard by the supervisor.
