Can you splice a short neutral in a panel so it will reach the terminal? If so does it have to be by hypress?
It can be a wire nut. What difference would it make? Can you splice a short neutral in a panel so it will reach the terminal? If so does it have to be by hypress?
Yes you can splice it and no it does not have to be crimped. Can you splice a short neutral in a panel so it will reach the terminal? If so does it have to be by hypress?
Could a service neutral be spliced with something like a polaris lug?Yes you can splice it and no it does not have to be crimped.
of course it depends on what neutral you're talking about Service neutral or branch circuit and what size.
I've never understood the irreversible method for GEC but the acorn nuts connecting the ground wire to ground rods could be removed at any time if one would choose to do so.My understanding is you can splice any wire needed to add length in a panel as long as an appropriate splicing method is used. Be it a wire nut, crimp, Polaris, split bolt, etc….
The only caveat I can think of is no splicing of the GEC of the GES that isn’t an “irreversible” method. Am I wrong????
230.33 Spliced Conductors. “Service conductors shall be permitted to be spliced or tapped in accordance with 110.14, 300.5(E), 300.13, and 300.15”I didn't think you could splice a service.
