splicing elevators feeders

The feeders to the elevator room were damaged. Is it legal to splice wires in a j box or do new feeders need to be pulled?

I don't see anything in 620 that would not allow a splice, however the splice must be accessible.

I agree with Dennis, there is nothing prohibbiting this and in fact I have done it by design in some long runs.
