Splicing Parallel AL to a single CU conductor

I was given some wrong info on a crane feed. So now I am stuck with Parallel 1/0 AL conductors to a 200amp breaker that can only have a single conductor landed I am curious if anyone has ever spliced on a single 3/0 CU conductor. I cannot find anything in the code that says I cannot. I will be asking my inspector today.

So to explain more I was told the crane getting installed was a 100 amp feed so I ran an 1 1/2" PVC conduit for it and then we had a kickoff meeting and the crane guy said no its a 200 amp feed. I have a spare 1 1/2" conduit down there so I am going to run parallel 1/0 AL conductors but without spending a lot of money on a 400 amp frame breaker I want to splice on a single 3/0 copper conductor to the parallel 1/0 have any of you seen this done?

As long as the splice connector is rated for that combination of sizes and materials, the code will not object.
Assuming there is sufficient fill and bending space inside the panel.

Something like this will work:
