Will anyone please suggest a brand & model for copper split bolts that will handle a connection between two runs of 2 AWG THWN-2 stranded Cu cable (one end to one end)? I've been reading the specifications on these things and it's confusing, to put it nicely.

Thank you kindly for your time

Every listed split bolt should work for what you're asking as long as they're listed for the conductor size.

You can look here and click on the specification sheet link:

Caution: the above answers are correct for normally stranded building wire. The answers may be different if you are discussing 'fine stranded' wire.

Only if you can show how to achieve rated torque on split bolts. I’m tired of cleaning up after these things fail.

Not a side by side connection. Like a butt splice.
A split bolt can be used that way, with the wires coming from opposite directions, or you could use:

Larry B. Fine .... As good ol' Ed McMahon used to start a lot of his replies with, "I did not know" that those aluminum butt connectors could be used with copper cable. Very good suggestion, sir! (y)

Most likely they are tin plated, so that's not a problem.
