Hi all,
Looking for some advice on how to safely split a 220V 50 amp Line I've got for a project I'm working on.
The line currently supplies 4.0 kW to an appliance via 8 Ga wire and and I'm looking to add another appliance that will be 4.5 kW. The appliances are near each other so I was planning on doing this by adding a sub panel with two 25 amp breakers. Based on what I'm seeing though a 220V 50 amp line should use 6 Ga wire so it seems like I'll have to replace that wire if I'm planning on adding the sub panel. Thoughts or other recommendations?
