splitting up through conduit

It's been a while. What is the rule on when you have 6 phase and 2 neutral wires paralleled through two conduits and you have to use the two sets of smaller wires owing to existing plumbing limitations as opposed to 3 & 1 through a fatter pipe?

Each conduit run has one of each?

Also, if it's a "snug fit" is it allowed to run one or more of the wires through a neighboring conduit?

My memory is no to the 2nd but I can't find the citation for either question.

The memory is coming back. I seem to recall an email from here with sample calculations.

Facilities is adding additional service to one of my labs and having issues with pulling the wire, and no room to run new conduit or inclination to drill through several walls in between to do so. They bagged it for the day.

Is there a link to the Mike Holt email on this somewhere?

Do you mean the private messages?

If so at the top right of your screen you will see, Welcom Megloff11x
2 lines under is the private messages.

It was one of those subscribed monthly or so emails on how to calculate things, or a code quiz. I searched the archives but the titles didn't indicate which one it was, but I remember seeing it - just like I remember I parked my car, but where...

I remember it because I had it back aswords in my mind at the time. Now I simply can't remember.

If you participated in the thread, you could search all posts by you, and find it that way.

Or if you remember someone who posted in it and do the same thing.

Might take some time, but an idea for you.

This is paralleling of conductors as permitted in 310.4 and other related section numbers, such as:
250.24(B)(2)
250.122(F)
300.3(B)(1)Ex1
300.5(I)Ex1&2

Simply not permitted. When reading 310.4, remember to read past the exception and past the FPN. There is a lot of pertinent info there.
