I have one standalone building classified as group R converted to assisted living for 8 people. The building has attic, first floor and basement.

Basement has recreation room, bathroom, and 3 bedrooms

The first floor has 1 sprinkler room, 3 storage rooms, 5 bedrooms, bathroom, living/dining room, kitchen. Kitchen has refrigerator, kitchen hood fan on top of stove, dishwasher

Attic is not habitable just attic has HVAC equipment.

The sprinkler room has receptacle and was wondering if NEC 2014 section 210.8(b)(6) would apply here or the entire building would be dwelling unit and only NEC 2014 Section 210.8(A) apply in which case sprinkler room receptacle does not need to be GFCI?

What kind of a "sprinkler room" would be a "wet location" ??

I am not sure. If room somehow gets flooded with water or something would be wet location but then building has sprinkler system is sprinkled would also be true of other parts not sure. Does sprinkler room have GFCI receptacle or not? Also depends on if the post #1 building considered as dwelling unit as while or part of it is considered dwelling unit

I can think of no situation in any type occupancy where a "sprinkler room" on the 1st floor would require GFCI unless that room also served other purposes requiring GFCI such as having a sink,.

Agreed. It it was a wet location, then all the wiring etc would have to be wet location rated. Its only wet if the sprinkler is activated and then there are much bigger issues.

Thats the concern when sprinkler come on its wet location. So for that event that would code would require GFCI since it would be wet location in that event no?

If the water line broke in the ceiling above one of the bedrooms it would be a wet location...etc. etc.
Tom has told you it's not a wet location as have I.
Your "what if" logic get old.
