Have a 600 amp and 1200 amp breaker's feeding a couple new panels we installed in another building . One has a 5.0 and the other has a 5.3 micrologic trip unit in them . Do we have to remove these trip units to megger them at 500 volts ? Just want to check the cables and panels before we power them up ...

I would megger the cables only. Meggering solid state breakers is not advised.

I have done the megger of Square D breaker (now Schneider) after removing the micrologic as one of the service rep said to me if you would do megger with it in place, it would ruin the unit.
