SqD SEF Circuit Breaker

Last night I came upon a situation after opening a Square D SEF circuit breaker. How do you lock it out? What type of device is required?

Rack the breaker out to the disconnect position and apply a padlock to the racking mech access cover. Just like any other drawout type breaker.

This SE breaker is bolted in not a draw out.

I contacted SqD and of-course they have an accessory available........

Actually SqD recommends adding a pad lock attachement kit part #SE2PA http://ecatalog.squared.com/techlib/docdetail.cfm?oid=09008926800565a4

Bolt in, yep you are going to have problems there. Still even thier accessory only stops the breaker from closing, it is not sufficient protection from switching transients, thats why draw out breakers are locked in the disconnect postion. But I suppose it is the best you can do.
