.... voluntary recall of our Square D 30A & 60A General Duty Switch manufactured between September 11, 2006 and November 4, 2006.

Now just where exactly did I install them at?

Seriously tho':
here is the possibility for the switch handle to be placed in the OFF position when the switch is still in an ON (closed) position. This may result in the potential for PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

They also list a bunch of Catolog Numbers.

Give the link an eyeball.

square d has alot more disconnects than just these that should be recalled!!
many years ago square d began building fused and no fuse disconnects with a plastic axle on the movable contact assembly. we have found two of their disconnects where this plastic axle had melted from a loose connection on the line side contact block. these were on 480 volt, three phase ac compressor units. you could turn the disconnect's handle to the "off" position, and it felt and sounded like it worked properly. but two of the three phase blades were still connected to the line side because the axle had melted in half.

square d should recall every switch with this plastic axle design--and they know it!!

be careful and check that the power is off on their equipment and pass this information around especially ac servicemen.............
