I’m used to standard metal knockouts for terminating NM cable (Romex) with a standard NM connector, but what are these plastic pieces where knockouts are usually placed on the bottom of this cabinet?

Are plastic table to be removed similar to a plastic mail in box for NM cable? And if so what would serve as the required connector from NM cable to cabinet?

This is a single phase 100 ampere square D Homeline load center

Creating a vacuum means sucking. They suck.

It's harder to get existing cables in these than real cable connectors in existing walls.

I'm sure they're okay for new/exposed work.
yea I can se how existing work can be a problem especially due to s bend section

The panel can not be slid up or down on the cables, so there's little vertical play.

It's worse if you are not making the opening taller at either or both ends.

Is that what you meant?
