SquareD Panel

Has anyone ever heard of a SquareD Trilliant Service Panel? I have never seen one. It is no longer manufactured. A customer would like a circuit added for a Hot Tub.

What can I do besides replace the entire panel?

Thanks,

Re: SquareD Panel

Trilliant was a great idea before the siding contractors started driving nails into the bus. The pan was plastic and would not stop a nail very well.

To answer your question, you may add a circuit. The panel was listed when it was manufactured and installed. I don't know if it uses a QO breaker or something else. You may have a problem getting a breaker for it that is listed for the panelboard.

Some Trilliant breakers are still available from Square D through any of their full-line distributors. The selection will grow smaller as inventory is sold.

List price for a #SDT245 (45A 2 Pole) is $91.00.

They only have GFI breakers in 15 & 20A single pole.

Try this company :

ARCK Electrical Supply
1875 Barrett Drive
Rockledge, FL 32955
(800-856-9756)
e-mail : arckelectric@earthlink.net

I had an occasion last year to add a sub panel to a residence with a Trilliant panel and the largest 2-pole breaker they had was 40 amp. Hope this helps. Good luck

Re: SquareD Panel

If you dont find a breaker elsewhere, I hear www.breakerbrokers.com is a good place to go. I got the pleasure of buying a 150 Amp 2 Pole Zinsco Breaker there about a month ago.

Try your local distributor and see if Connecticut Electric Sweitch makes that breaker. They manufacture replacement circuit breakers for nearly all "extinct" residential panels (Federal, Zinsco, Pushmatic, etc.) . (UL listed).
