The info on 3M's website says that it's also good for round cables up to .30" in diameter.splinetto said:On the bag 3M stackits it list only the use of 14/2 ,12/2 and 10/2...My question would be If I put a 12/3 in the stackit am I going against man.. instructions and are there other stackits out there that are rated for 3 wire Romex?
True but the next size up lists up to 10-3 round NM alsomdshunk said:The info on 3M's website says that it's also good for round cables up to .30" in diameter.

Thanks Marcmdshunk said:The info on 3M's website says that it's also good for round cables up to .30" in diameter.
Here's the paper that comes in the bottom of the box when you buy a whole case of stackers:

I admit I have used a stack it or two....I dont know if there is more info ...but the way I read the info from Marc it looks like you would only be able to put 2 12/3's in one stackit.....stickboy1375 said:One wire per hole but you use stakit's? These must kill you to use....
Sorry, it's the PDF on 3M's web site.mdshunk said:Not sure I follow. Got a link?
Oh, okay. That's not the "next size up". That's the 3/4" thick version made for furring strips. There is no reason, however, that you couldn't use them on 2x construction, save for the fact that they're more expensive than the regular stackers.Chris6245 said:Sorry, it's the PDF on 3M's web site.

How about eight 14-2's? At what point does bundling begin?Dennis Alwon said:If 4 nm cables of 14/2 are stacked or bundled (I am not sure it would be bundling) then derating would not be an issue 25amp * 70% = 17.5 amps-- still good for 15amps
If the point of being concerned about bundling is to limit heating, the document shows that this is not really a concern with full Stackers. Because of that information, I wouldn't really worry about it myself when using that product.LarryFine said:How about eight 14-2's? At what point does bundling begin?
Believe me, I don't.mdshunk said:If the point of being concerned about bundling is to limit heating, the document shows that this is not really a concern with full Stackers. Because of that information, I wouldn't really worry about it myself when using that product.
