Stack of 4? square box extension rings

During a job site observation, I noticed 5 extension rings were stacked on a 4? sq j-box. This will be used for an outlet on gypsum ceiling. I guess they mounted a j-box too high they had to stack 5 extension rings down to get to the gypsum ceiling. This doesn?t seem right, but can?t find the code section that prohibits this. Any idea?

I see no NEC limit on the number of extension boxes as long as the conductors are long enough.
