Stainless steel meter base

Are stainless steel meter bases required by code on an island..i.e where there is a high possibility of corrosion. Or is that a power company requirement? Residential btw. Thanks all

Maybe yes, maybe no. A stickler inspector could say its in a corrosive atmosphere, but that's kinda a stretch. It would probably be more of a design issue. But usually it's a POCO thing.

Get a copy of the utility meter installation specifications.

I do a lot of work in Florida; all of the utilities I’ve worked with require aluminum meter cans for salt spray areas.
