I am installing an overhead light on a three way switch in the stairwell. Stairs are a straight run, no midway landings. Should I install additional tread lighting. They're nice I suppose, but also just more switches and maybe not necessary?
"Traditionally" all you get in a stairwell is the light at the top, the light at the bottom, and varying shadows in-between. I agree with nickelec-- treadlights are nice when done properly.
You don't want lights that shine down the stairway-- you'll see them glaring in your face when you climb up the stairs.
