Standard Home Oil Furnace Wiring

New house has dedicated 15 amp circuit hard wired into furnace. Same supply supports a four way outlet that feeds the boiler.
Question: Can the feed be terminated into a four way at the furnace location that would allow me to run the furnace thru a grounded pigtail.
Reason for this is the need to provide a standby generator to be used during power outages to provide power to the furnace. The above procedure would allow safe transfere feed from house to generator if needed. (Mfg of Generator "Craftsman - Sears" recommends not using transfere switch because the generator does not have a 220 side).
Appreciate information as to code requirement for uninterupted dedicated line to furnace... Thanks, J.Pierce
