Re: Standard Load Calc.

There are some very good examples in the back of the code book.

Re: Standard Load Calc.

Your right. But it doesn't make it CLEAR ENOUGH OR either I can't find it. but Thanks

Re: Standard Load Calc.

I don't quite follow the question. I assume you are doing a dwelling based on the loads you mentioned.

What article starts with 3000 VA? Or which one allows derating for a dwelling? I don't do a lot of residential calcs, and I don't see that in the code?

Re: Standard Load Calc.

You are talking about the demand factors for the lighting loads, per Table 220.11. You start with the 3 VA per square foot. There are only two other things that you can add to this lighting load, before applying the demand factor. They are the two small appliance circuits (3000 VA total) and one laundry circuit (1500 VA). You apply the demand factor (100% of the first 3000 VA, 35% of the next 170,000 VA, and 25% of the rest). Then, and only then, you add the motors (dishwasher, trash compactor, garbage disposal) and all the other loads. These three specific motor loads are not included in the loads to which Table 220.11 applies.

Is that what you were asking?
