I have been asking standby generator installers and keep getting mixed answers.

I live outside of city limits of houston on a large acreage lot. I would like to build a well house to enclose my water well and extend the concrete pad outside of the enclosed portion of the well house for a standby generator. Place the generator 18" off the side of the structure. Is there any code regulations against this?

Generator on a shared concrete pad but completely open and nothing within 10' of it. Except where it backs up to the well shed of 18".

I've seen blips about 36" for AC units or anything "serviceable" but that's a houston city limit.

Well house of someone else. Their pad is all inside of the well house. I want to extend one.

I am not sure if you are doing the generator install if so we can not answer any questions relating to that. Your question on generator in building depends on instructions for generator. To me the building seems too small and may be a issue with code there
