Standoffs, Spacers, ???

In the past, when installing exposed RMC, I've used what I always called "standoffs". They were designed to slip behind the RMC and then a one-hole Rigid strap would be used - the screw holding the strap would also go through the single hole in the "standoff". There were two reasons for using the "standoff" - one to keep a 1/4" space behind the RMC( I think on the job I'm thinking of, it happened to be in the spec.), and secondly it saved you from doing a box offset.

Can anyone steer me to a manufacturer or link that shows these. I have asked several supply houses in my area, and get this blank stare. My other offset thread is not picking up this feedback, so I figured I'd post a more direct topic. Once I find a source, I want to purchase some to have for putting behind 1/2" and 3/4" EMT, PVC or RMC - it's drivin' me nutz ~:)~, that I can't find them.

Thanks,

Brett

You might try Appleton, they are called clamp backs.
clb-50m 1/2"
clb-75m 3/4"
clb-100m 1"
These numbers are for malleable iron, leave the m off for steel.

If this is just to 'make it work,' as opposed to a specific listed product, my choice would be McMaster Carr if there's one in town. They deliver via UPS within 100 miles or so the next day, sometimes later that same afternoon around here. They give you a choice of threaded or not, material, color, etc.

The McMaster operators have always been very helpful, they'll let you know what brand it is for example, or connect with a tech person. Their web page doesn't work for me unless I turn off my ad blocker utility, but then the catalog is fairly clear. They stopped publishing their paper catalog several years ago, no use asking for one, if you find one laying around you're lucky.http://www.mcmaster.com/Spacers are down in Fastening and Sealing, pages 3079 on. It looks as if the 3/8 OD will take a #10 or #12 screw and the 1/2 inch long would be P/N 92415A430 for steel, 92510A330 in aluminum. Of course, you'll need to call them for price & availability. Ask the operator whether you need to buy an entire box of them. We have a couple hardware places locally for electronics (Electronics Hardware in North Hollywood comes to mind) and they might not force you to buy an entire bagful.
edit sorry I didn't see from the OP what size you're working with. Somehow the editor stripped all my line spaces too. For the 3/8 OD by 1/4 long, that catalog shows aluminum (92510A327 @ .74), zinc plated brass(90309A027 # .57), nylon (94639A127 @ $6.26/100),

Peteo, I don't see how the part number you gave can take the place of a clamp back

I thought Brett was looking for these "Clamp Backs"

not these hollow spacers.

How would I use the round spacer to keep the RMC off the wall?

Yes I agree. My mistake. Brett forget what I wrote, those are simple spacers not what you were asking about. Duh. Thanks to Bob for pointing this out.
