Hoping for some best practice responses. Have a Starlink satellite system (dish with 100ft ethernet cable permanently attached that runs to a POE block which then connects to their router and my network switch is plugged into). As it's new, no specific guidance from Starlink on install and I'm not an electrician by any means although a pretty handy DIY'er. For line of site and due to the amount of underground rock in the backyard, a far corner of my deck is the ideal location on a post. Was planning to use a 6ft tall metal fence post secured with straps to the deck post. This happens to be very close by the above ground pool (which is bonded to the pool pump) and the pump is on the ground directly below this corner of the deck. The pump has a gfci outlet which runs back to our outside electrical panel which is connected to a ground bar which is apparently the whole house point of grounding for all things electrical (I see the satellite tv dish connects to this as well). To connect a grounding cable to the Starlink dish would end up with a run of more than 20ft if I just connected it back to the grounding bar at this point. My assumption is that I should drop a grounding rod in by the corner of the deck and connect the Starlink dish to this, but a) should I run a grounding cable back from this new ground rod to the whole house ground bar, b) would it potentially cause damage to the pool pump if a grounding rod is installed very close by. Suggestions for how to make this safe? Worried about the summer storms coming up. Planning to also connect an ethernet lightning arrestor outside of the house as well once I figure out best way to mount the dish itself.
