Start Stops at motors

Is thier any code ref. that would require start stops at motors when using PLC logic? All motors will have disconnects that are lockable in off position,in a motor control center. The code we are under is still 1999. I can not find any refere

nce that requires start stop stations at motors.

That is a design issue, not a code issue. You won't find a NEC rule that requires a start/stop at the motor.
