I have a customer who just bought a house and the electrical from the previous owner?s remodels is all messed up so I am going thru and fixing improper wiring where the kitchen island outlets are tapped of the cook top 30-amp circuit.

My question is there is an electrical steam generator for the steam shower and no disconnecting means unit is hard wire with 10-3 Romex. Does the steam shower count as an electric heating element thus requiring the circuit to be calculated at 125% and does the unit require bonding to the water pipes and metal objects surrounding it.

Oh yea and the other part is the sub panel located in the same bath (I am in the process of relocating panel) as the steam shower that is feed with an old 2 wire cloth SEU cable and no ground.

I have found so much jerry rigged electrical that some was dangerous. No permits for previous remodels but I pulled a permit to make all the corrections.
