I am looking for info on the inserts/insulators that one needs to install in the cutouts in steel beams. I can get the round ones and rectangular ones for the larger beams. This project is using some smaller beams (only 1 5/8) deep, their holes are smaller. I mangled some of the larger bushings to make them fit in the smaller openings, but that is not doing it for me or the inspector. :( Thank you for responses.

Re: Steel beam bushings

Joe,

They do make a v bushing that fits that type of metal stud. Yhough not as well as the 2 piece snap in round type.

A chase nipple, locknut and holesaw will get you any hole size you need.

That's what we do when running plenum communications cables down through the top plate from the air handling space. No plastic allowed in the air handling space and a plastic bushing on the top of the plate would be.
