So the set-up is that I have several machines that vend air, water, vacuum, etc. The water machines use a 120v to 24v xfmr that sends power to a 24v solenoid valve for a predetermined amount of time. These are outside, but fully covered by a stainless steel bonnet, which would potentially classify them as being in a damp location, although the only moisture they see is ambient humidity. The problem is that they seem to go bad a lot more often than say a doorbell xfmr. Any thoughts on why?
