I was reading 312.5 (C) and are they referring to sticky backs?

Oh ok i thought it was talking about sticky backs, those things you stick inside a panel and then run a tie wrap through to make your wires look nice and neat.

Were you reading "the code" or some sort of NEC handbook? That term does not appear in my copy of the NEC. Never heard that term before! Strange.

Sorry yeah it wasn't in the main 2008 NEC Code book it was in the 2008 NEC Handbook. It doesn't say the word sticky back, but thats what i was wondering if they were referring to.

I believe the OP was initially confused on what the article said. It seems he was thinking in terms of securing conductors in an enclosure vs cables to it.

I believe he understands now.

Yeah i think i have it now. When it said "secure cable to the cabinet" i was thinking of the back of the cabinet like a sticky back instead of through it with a connector.
