Ok the question is, on a stilt home with a 10 foot flood plain, does the nec require a receptical at the front and rear of the home at the lower level? not the living level i know it does there, but at the bottom below the flood plain????? if yes please tell me in wich section it can be found in the code book because i am having trouble finding it lol!!! thanks !!

'05 NEC 210.52(E) is the section for outdoor outlets. You may also need to check w/ local AHJ for flood plain amendments.
thanks and please pardon me for my ignorance but what is AHJ lol . also in that section it sates at grade level you need a outdoor recept but i cant find anything about the flood plain recepts in the code book. ???

Grade level & flood plain are two seperate elevation designations.
AS in Florida you know, grade level is where you stand on the dirt.
Flood plain is where ever the flood control district maps put it.
Call your AHJ aka inspector, and ask them what they expect in this situation.

Whether your an apprentice or a season master electrician, you should never feel intimidated, not to call any inspector and ask them questions like this.

AHJ authority having jurisdiction. In other words the inspector you may have to deal with. As far as code section for flood plains, there is none.
thats my problem he is assuming that the grade level mentioned in the nec applies to all homes even ones who may be covered in water!! the same home passed rough inspection as is but on final inspection they want recepts in the front and rear of the home. this is contradicting to the codes that i have read on the placement of recepts in wet locations as well as outside of the homes. i am not having fun with this problem at all as you may have already guessed. thanks again.

SO an inspector missed something on Rough in? Not the first time!
I don't get or adhere to the "What if"
If your "what ifing" the wet location my advice as stupid as this will sound is don't call for a final when the house is flooded or at high tide?
Just exactly, what is it the inspector wants? & why can't you do it?

yea they missed somthing lol! i know it happens all the time but how offten do they miss an outside recept? the what if is this guy is just trying to prove something at my expence cause he is new and its not very funny lol. he also said i had to put a old work box behind a vanity light with a fill of atleast 2.2 cube with the proper connectors!!! but yeah the final at high tide thats funny lol i will be sure not to do that! he wants a recept in the front and rear of the home, on the stilt legs of the house? i can do it but its just a pain cause the builder dosent want any dammage!!!

This is not an NEC issue this is a FEMA issue. You need to contact your Building Department and talk to the FEMA rep and get a list of what can and cannot be below flood. I have a list but it is back at the office. The inspector has NO say as to having anything additional below flooe. You can have 1 (one) receptacle outlet and 1 (one) switch below flood. ALL other required electrical equipment MUST be above flood. This includes the service equipment, A/C equipment (and disconnects). This does not include Pool equipment because it is not required equipment. It also includes generators and its' associated transfer switch and disconnect. In certain flood zones the walls that are built below flood must be break away walls and cannot have any electric on them. The easiest way for me to determine flood is to see the cantilever for the A/C unit, everything below that cantilever is within flood.
