Good luck with that. Best I could suggest is hanging the rods at the top from strut that is 90 degrees to the track so that you can slide it back and forth. You will also need to be able to adjust the length up and down.

And 70 feet of string...

We use lasers, but the hard part is making sure all the rod is dead straight. I’d probably step up to 1/2” rod for a 12’ drop.

Laser, for sure. And even if the rods were dead straight (but they won't be), getting them to all drop straight down out of the strut won't happen.

Just hang it all first. Then go back and tweak the all thread to get it on your laser line
