stranded #10 & #12 twisted "counterclockwise" under binding screw

my new hire says that we should twist the strands and tighten them up in a 'counterclockwise' manner before forming them into a 'hook' and tightening under binding screw. ?? I never heard of that....sounds wrong to me.

Can anyone direct me to more information on the recommended method to terminate stranded wire to a binding screw? ..one way or tu' ther ...

...of course, when that is ALL you have to work with

Yup, tends to keep the strands under the screw head as you tighten.

Strands twisted counter-clockwise tend to get pulled toward the center of the screw as you tighten it.
