What do you guys think works best for pulling general purpose receptacles and light fixtures stranded or soloid? Most of my work has been residential but now have started to get into smaller commercial jobs and trying to get up to speed on commercial wiring methods.

I don't think I have ever seen MC #12 in anything but solid. As far as what is better #12 solid or #12 stranded it all depends on what you are doing with it. Long pulls stranded is easier. Connecting to a receptacle solid is easier. Choose your poison depending on the task at hand.

MC cable is made in both stranded and solid. I don't use solid anymore on MC cable heck around here they look at you funny if you ask for solid in anything other than bare #4 and 6...

Funny how that works. Around here they would look at you sideways if you asked for stranded MC.

Must be regional marketing or its a conspirousy. I still say #12 stranded is a little to free spirited as it comes off the spool.
