I am giving advice to someone donating time and material for outlets on street lights for christmas lights. The Pocos is putting them and attaching them to there lines feeding the street lights. I checked with my inspector and here once before and this is okay. They are bassically using a Weather prrof box and a small service head. I have two questions though.
I said to use XHHW Cu wire. I believe this will hold up well. But would it be UV resistant? What wire would be best to use.
Do they need a ground wire? I believe the grouned conductor or neutral is bonded to the ground for the pole at each pole. Do they run a ground wire up pipe and attach it to the same place as the grounded conductor?
Any other advice I can give them.
