Stripped too far?

Is it a code violation to strip conductors too far from their termination point? If so please point me to the code reference.

No direct code violation, however it might be a 110.3(B) violation if the listing and labeling of the the breaker specifies a strip length.

I have been known to take off a tad bit extra insulation, but I have never gone that far.

Ditto, ActionDave But if I &( probably you) did that installation We would trim the exposed copper back closer to the insulation.

I never measure my strip lengths and I worry about the day in court when they prove I stripped my wire back 3/8" vs 5/16".

if it bothers you, tape it, heat shrink it, or cut the ends back and re-terminate.
