I'm looking at a set of designs for a ground mounted array specifying WEEB bonded unistrut as racking. Can PV wire homeruns be routed through the strut channel, as I've seen done with ProSolar racking? It's unclear to me if 384 would apply in this application. The modules would effectively act as a cap, and PV wire is rated for outdoor use and not required to be in a raceway under the array. The Unistrut "General Engineering" manual states that it is UL listed as a "surface metal raceway" with the cap, and does not mention slotted as being excluded.

We have always used unslotted strut for raceways.

I have always assumed the slotted would be a violation of 110.12(A).

That said, with PV wire it does not have to be in a raceway at all so I don't think the slots will matter.

Thanks. Seems like a clean, efficient way to go, and would save a lot of SS ties. One concern could be burrs on the inside of the strut from the slot punches.
