I have decided to pursue taking the masters exam, to mainly help reinforce my knowledge of the NEC as well as have the license in my portfolio in the event I decide to do anything with it in the future.

I am also going to hopefully take my PE next October, and I figured that studying for the masters would be helpful in reviewing the NEC material for the PE exam since I've heard this is a large portion of this exam.

What do you guys recommend as far as study material for reviewing for this masters exam?

From the research I've done it appears that you can take this masters/electrical contractors exam at pretty much any time during the year that the individual feels ready.

Is this correct?

I took both the technical and business in Tampa and you could choose the day/time. If you are taking the unlimited electrical, make sure you have all 18 (yes, 18!) books required. There are questions on alarms, signs, concrete and lightning protection.

I took and passed both the technical and business in October after attending the 6 day Mike Holt prep class in Orlando.
I would not have passed the business portion without it.

One other thing...
After you pass the Florida tests, you have to submit your application to the state to get the license. You are required to show a business entity that you are qualifying. You can't just get your master's liscense and sit on it for future use. However, you can pass the test and then apply for the license - I think there is a 2 year window. Still, not the same as actually getting the license and what's the point of taking the tests if you don't get the paper?
