NJ State Electrical Exam
Welcome to the Forum!

Hopefully, yes some people will speak up about this matter, in the mean time you can "Search" here and find some old discussions, I know (OK, I recall) several threads of named teachers for NJ, you can Search here with your phrase or slight variables of your phrase "New Jersey electrical test"; "New Jersey electrical teacher"; "testing electrical New Jersey", "State exam New Jersey" I'd read the shorter of the threads, mostly they will be short. :) there will be other valuable information in there as well.

Frankly, I'd take some of your desired phrases to your favorite "Search Engine"! MH forum's will come up as other will and even independent web sites devoted to your search. The Search engines might be a better faster and broader thing, while the MH Forum will be more specific and exactly.

You might also call some electrical supply houses in the neighborhood, there always seems to be some literature on the counter about classes, I know they do that a lot around here!

Good Luck with your pursuits!

NJ Exam

hi and lots of luck. i have the contractor and HHS inspector in NJ. study ampacity derating, conduit fill, branch circuits, feeders, service equipment, size a few single family dwellings and size a 25 unit apt building, size a three phase 480V feeder for an MCC, pools, grounding, bonding and most of all learn to navigate the code book fast! i hear they dont allow tabs anymore, also and I cant stress this enough is know your definitions! they tried to trick people years ago about what a bathroom is, its defined in the book but the question was a room with a toilet only can a panel board be installed, lots of guys said no, its yes because the definition of a bathroom is a toilet with a shower or a sink, i think thats how it reads i dont have my book w/ me. theyll give you something like ... Given: A 180KVA 277/480 transformer requires what size conductor/overcurrent device no temp derating and the answers are very close

Tom Pernal is mostly teaching the inspector course exams and by day he is a school (electrical) teacher. You can try Tom but between teaching the CE classes and DCA courses I dont think he has an exam prep class. And no, IF you study its easy, passed mine first time and I actually think the contractor is harder than the commercial inspectors exam 2A & 2B Plan review was the toughest. Toms a buddy of mine for years and a great guy.
