Simple question, I should know. I have a 60 amp subpanel in a garage and customer requests service to adjacent outbuilding/office. How much can I take from the 60 amps in the garage? Sub being fed from the 200 amp service in attached house.

How much is the garage itself using? How much will the new building be using? Do you have motor loads (A/C or pumps)? Have you done any calculations based on the available information you have?

It's not really difficult to figure out but these are a few things you need to consider.

Welcome to the forum!

Ignore for the moment that you're adding another panel. What is the load be on the existing feeder now? How much headroom does that leave you?

That you're adding a panel doesn't change the load, only the number of spaces your existing panel needs to have available. (Remember to maintain the neutral/EGC separation.)
