Sub-Panel Feed

What is the maximum sub-feed that is allowed off of a main panel? Say if you have a 200amp main panel what would be the maximum breaker size that could be installed for a sub-feed panel? I have looked and haven't had any luck finding this.

It can be any size. You won't find a specific limitation because there isn't any.

The feeder breaker can't be smaller than the calculated load. That is only limitation.

You can install as big a breaker as the panel or load center will accept.

If you had a 100 MB panel that would accept a 2000 amp branch breaker it would be permissible.

I thought that might be the answer I recieved, but it just didn't make sense to me. But some things just don't.

Like why we make less than most other trades. Atleast in my area.
