I am working on a rehab of a cardiology clinic and some of the existing sub panels would now be located inside exam rooms. Actually they were previously located in exams rooms for the previous tenant. However, since this facility has no main breaker and seven service disconnects :-?, I suspect that maybe the was some lapse in previous inspections. Anyway, I see 517 talks about receptacles and fixed equipment, but I may be missing something. My best interpretation would be if the sub panel would be wired with EMT and have an insulated ground then it may be ok. Actually I want these subs out of these areas, but, I need a real reason.
