Sub-Panels in Guestrooms

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some clarification on a code requirement for hotels with permanent cooking provisions in the guestrooms. Is it necessary to provide a sub-panel in each guestroom, or would it be acceptable to supply 5 or 6 circuits per room from the floor panel? If possible, could you refer to any specific code sections that apply?

Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Does that mean a cook top or oven, or does a built in microwave only count? Is a sink and refrigerator required?

Most inspection authorities don't count a microwave for this purpose. A sink is required, but not a refrigerator.
