Sub-Panels in Guestrooms

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some clarification on a code requirement for hotels with permanent cooking provisions in the guestrooms. Is it necessary to provide a sub-panel in each guestroom, or would it be acceptable to supply 5 or 6 circuits per room from the floor panel? If possible, could you refer to any specific code sections that apply?

Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

See 240.24(B)(2). That language requires a panel in the guest room if has permanent provisions for cooking.
