Subpanel Seperate Structure

We need to have a sub panel installed into another building on our commercial property. This will only be in place for about a year. We are going to put up replacement storage sheds for rentals.

The problems is that we need electricity to the existing sheds that are not used and are very damp and some walls are open. We have an air compressor that we are using as well as some power tools in one of the sheds.

Is it worth it to us to have a sub panel installed or should we just have the electrician install additional branch circuits from the main building. The concern that we have is the mositure and the fact that some of the walls have openings in them. Water can get into the building.

What considerations need to be made in regards to a sub in a seperate structure with these conditions? This only needs to be a temporary solution until the new sheds are put in next year.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Subpanel Seperate Structure

Per sectin 225.30, each additional building shall be supplied by one branch circuit or feeder. So, unless you can serve the equipment the shed by means of a single or multiwire branch circuit, a feeder will need to be installed and branch circuits distributed from equipment at the shed.

Equipment, enclosures, and wiring in wet locations should be listed for use in wet locations.
