One of our plants has a pad mount transformer, 2500 KVA, that the load side cables run underground in PVC conduit about 20 feet to the building then rise up to some overhead bus connections to the inside switchgear. The conduits are filled with water but a meggar testing found no low readings to ground. This seems to be practicle and unavoidable for water to enter the PVC. Is this unacceptable or would normal energy use and cable heating evaporate the water over time thus problem solved? I did not get the type of cable but I think it is THW or XHHW type. Thank you.
